Just wanted to say thank you so much for your product. I have put it on my violin and it has helped me more than I thought it would. It is very easy to use and just a great idea for the violin for beginners like me. I will make sure to spread the word about your product... Thank you again and I will be looking on your website for more... in the future.
Thank you,
Adam

Just wanted to tell you that today, I played Hava Nagila WITHOUT the guide, this after 2 months of just fooling around with the violin. Last week, I decided to learn Hava Nagila and after a few days with only very minor practicing, realized that I'd memorized it. For someone with very severe learning problems throughout, and with problems in memorizing, this was incredible. In just a week, seriously, I have been able to play it without the guide!! Nothing short of phenomenal! With your genius guide, it is so possible to play favorite tunes, even if you've never had music lessons! Taking up the violin @ age 66. I can't say enough about how wonderful the Fretless Finger Guide really is!!

I just wanted to say thank you for your ingenious and easy to use guide. It really works. Got me going quickly and to a place where I knew I wanted to keep going. My teacher really likes it that I already know the note locations and can read first position sheet music. I’ll let you know how it’s going.
Thanks again,
Melissa R.

Hello,
My 70 year old husband has been “trying to learn” violin for four years now. We live too far out of town for him to get regular lessons so he has been “trying to learn” by himself for all this time. Let me say that up until he found your guide things weren’t going well. After he started using your guide and color coding I could finally take the ear plugs out. He’s not quite ready for the stage, but he can play all the songs in your book and is working on the ones on your web site. Thank you for a marvelous learning tool. It has truly helped.

Hi Nick
Your site was the first one I clicked on after my search for violin finger placement stickers. Not only did it have exactly what I was looking for, but you have the entire setup fully mapped out and color coded! On top of that, you provide a practice songbook that works in perfect combination with the finger guide. These are excellent products in making the learning process so much easier for self learners like me. I will certainly spread the word. Please take care and keep up the great work!

Nick,
Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know what happened when I did as you suggested and took a look at your website. While looking at the fingerboard guide and song sheets something clicked in my head and I was easily able to tie the notes on the staff to the fingerboard positions, even across all four strings. Before I already knew where the notes were on the piano keys but somehow couldn't make the transition to the violin fingerboard. Now I can hardly wait to get my fingerboard guide and songbook!
Thanks so much!
Regina

First let say I am glad I found your web site, I am a beginner at 83 years old. I bought your fretless finger guide and it sure helped me. Not that I will ever be a fiddler but it came in handy. And thanks for all of the free sheet music. Very nice with the color codes. Because as you get older it is hard to read regular sheet music at a distance. And hard to learn to read music at my age. Thanks again for all you are doing to help young and old to find away to play the fiddle.
Thanks,
Leroy

Good to get a live email. Believe it or not, I am a 65 yr old music newbie. Played the piano as a boy but thought I'd give the violin a shot. Thought your Fretless Finger Guide and instructions would be a good way to jump in.

Hi Nick,
I rec'd the poster and guide today and it is already making a difference in my learning to play the fiddle. It is just what I needed to get me where I need to be; on the opposite side of clueless!
Thanks!

Hi Nick,
My order was delivered very quickly, and I am very happy with it. The finger guide is helping me to learn the instrument much quicker than before. If I ever meet anyone trying to learn the violin, I am definitely going to recommend this to them. If you ever need volunteers to write reviews or anything like that, I'd be more than happy to. The songbook is so helpful too! Thanks a lot for including the song Danny Boy. That one is definitely keeping me excited about practicing.

Hi Nick, [I'm] not a formal teacher- I just try to help myself and friends out with the old time fiddle music of Appalachia. And my observation is that everyone can stand improvement with their intonation, and that's where your Guides come in handy. Your guides are so much better than the old method of using thin strips of tape across the violin fingerboard to show first position.

I informally give violin instruction to the children of friends and family. Over the years I have tried all sorts of learning aids, tapes, dots, strips, wall charts and anything else I could think of. None of them worked as well as your guide.
So far everyone I have used the guide with has had no problem learning where the notes are. That frees me up to establish a good foundation for intonation training and sight reading. The color coded notes on the music staff that are reflected in the color coding on the guide really help with learning sight reading. The last two students picked up basic sight reading in a little over two weeks (which notes are on the lines and which ones are in the spaces came very quickly).
Your book has an excellent way of bringing the student along. Starting with the one string exercises, you make it very clear how to learn the note locations. Teaching scales with your color coded system has become fun! All of my students love the way the colors gives them confirmation they are playing the correct note.
The ability to easily take the guide off and put it back on is extremely handy. This allows me to make sure the students are truly learning the note locations and correlating them to the notes on the music staff. Additionally the variety of color coded songs really helps keep them interested while reinforcing the note location exercises.
My skills as an instructor really stop after teaching the basics. I encourage my students to seek more skilled instructors after I have done my part. Your guide and its ability to accelerate the learning curve have allowed my students to progress much faster. They have all gone on to more advanced lessons and credit your guide with getting them interested and keeping them going in the beginning. I know several of their present instructors are impressed with the results so far.
Many thanks for this marvelous learning tool.

I just have to tell you this. I started learning the violin 20 years ago, but have only played off and on (mostly off) for the past 7 years or so. I'm so out of practice that I decided to take up my instrument again, as a beginner, because I have lost so much skill by not playing regularly. I bought the Fretless Finger Guide because I have ALWAYS had trouble with the 4th finger position, and so always avoided it. I put it on and played through several pieces that have always given me trouble because I couldn't get to the 4th finger position. I even tried a piece that has a lot of flats that I don't often see in violin music and the finger guide made finding the right positions easy. I was having so much success that I did not want to end my practice session! My parents just ordered an electric violin for me as a gift so I had to order another finger guide for my new violin. I'm looking forward to working with the song book too. Thank you so much for such a great product!

I received my Fretless Finger Guides [and book] yesterday and put them on 2 of my violins, one of which I had to adjust the bridge to get the 330 mm scale length correct. But just to check, I used my chromatic tuner to test each finger position and to my pleasure, they all gave the correct notes in tune!
I am very pleased! As a beginning adult learner, I've started and stopped violin lessons, because of my frustration of never playing a tune well more than once. But today, I played 4 tunes with more confidence, because I could easily and quickly correct my fingers when I heard a note was not quite right.
Thank you very much for inventing this wonderful learning tool!

I love your product. The day I got it, I played through all of the songs in your book and impressed my whole family. Everything is easy to follow, and so fun to learn.
Thank you!

I thank you very much for your prompt reply, and very quick service. This is the fastest I have ever received a product from on line. And I am very skeptical about on line ordering of any kind. The guide fits perfectly, and although I just put it on and am very new to the violin, and have to let my wife sleep a little more before waking her with a tune, or racket, (its an acquired sound) I trust this guide will serve me very well.
Thank you so much

Just want to tell you how thrilled I am to have discovered your Fretless Finger Guides! Wow! I am a 73 year old grandma of 10, who is running a little music studio in little Dillsboro, NC. I am teaching fiddle/violin and piano, have 20 fiddle students, plus am teaching in an after school program called JAM, Junior Appalachian Musicians. The finger guide is becoming invaluable in teaching these kids! What a marvelous invention! Thank you so much! I will continue to be one of your constant users.

Thanks for a good product. I am just learning violin and this has been a tremendous help! I have a Guide on my first violin. I just purchased a new violin and plan to put a Guide on it too.

Thanks for a great product. As a sixty something trying to learn fiddle (electric btw) out in western Maine I was stuck with self-taught guides that just didn't work for me. Your guide makes sense to me so thanks. I am a visual learner and your system allows me to get a handle on how all of this is tied together. That feature is simply missing from The American Fiddle Method, The Fiddle Guru and of course the Suzuki Method (which is far to constrained for me after all I'm trying to learn fiddle played by common folk not concert level classical). It just rests on how one learns best and your system has gotten me excited again and believing that I can really do this!!!!

I had to write and let you know this little piece of plastic is the best thing ever! I learned to play years ago and decided at 39 I needed a new hobby. I picked up my violin and realized I had forgotten EVERYTHING. So I found a teacher (who happens to specialize in bluegrass) and started lessons. After 2 lessons nothing was clicking and I asked him if he thought your product would help, he said yup. I got the finger guide in the mail and put in on. I was playing old Macdonald and eine kleine nachtmusik within an hour! Thanks again and I'll be recommending you to all the weekend strummers and the pseudo-musically inclined I know. My hubby may be ordering soon for his guitar. He will be deploying for his 7th tour to Afghanistan and is trying to figure out how to take it with him. Once he does you'll be hearing from us!!! Thanks again.

I just want to take a moment to thank you for the free online tuner for the violin! I am a 54 year-old beginner and I admire what some people are able to do with the internet! I purchased one of your fantastic Fretless Finger guides and what a great product! I'm excited to get started and am looking forward to learning to play the violin using your product. I've learned to play the guitar "by ear" since I was 14 years old, but with your Fretless Finger Guide I am confident that I will learn with greater success and enjoy the fun of playing the violin in no-time. Again, many thanks.

Thank God for your finger guide product! I am 55 years old and am playing Amazing Grace in under 2 weeks with 1 to 2 hours of practice each night after dinner. I have tried all the books and NOTHING comes close to this tool at a wonderful price. The violin finger guide is easy to install. Stays in place well, the fit was perfect. Its not often that you can buy something that works so well for so little money!
Thank you, thank you thank you!
MANY THANKS,
G.Conaway

Dear Nick,
Your Fretless Finger Guides are magical! I am a learner violinist, and was always wondering how well I would place each finger and this made my playing hesitant. I played Amazing Grace and found that your Fretless Finger Guides built confidence in me as I managed to place my fingers on the right spots on the strings every time! Your Fretless Finger Guides will now help me to speed up my progress as a learner violinist. Ba Ba Black Sheep, Twinkle Twinkle, Silent Night are all coming along well enough. I am very satisfied indeed. I am visiting your site often so as to reap the benefit of the materials you are publishing. Keep up the good work. A BIG Thank You to you!
Kind regards,
Judex.

I received the Fretless Finger Guides for my students. It is the best idea I have seen. Now my students can spend more time getting the bow where need be. Most students say they can not remember where to place the fingers in the beginning, but thanks to you Nick, the note problems are solved. I feel that the student, old or young, has a better chance to learn faster. Everyone likes to play a song, and now learning a song helps them practice so they can start on a new one. After the students play their violin with the fretless guide, I have them try on another fiddle without. Remarkably they have developed their mind where their fingers go by habit and repetition. If the student knows what the right note sounds like they learn to hear when it is out of tune.
Thank you,
Pete Poholek
